While gender gaps are continuously closing, there are still some areas where males and females simply refuse to come together. In this case, it’s their preference on car models and manufacturers.

TrueCar.com released the results from a recent study that examined the differences in gender preferences when it comes to car models. The study found that male car loan borrowers favor exotic makes and tough, brawny vehicles when compared to the fairer sex’s tastes.

“The SUV and truck heavy mix of domestic auto makers continue to generate a disproportionate number of male customers, while the exotic brands remain to be the best medicine for a midlife crisis,” said Jesse Toprak, Vice President of Market Intelligence at TrueCar.com.
